Tour Nr. 01 Mangfall Range / Tegernsee

Description: (2 day tour)

Easy mountain tour with occasional sections, where sure footedness is necessary. We hike partly on remote pathes through the Mangfall mountain range. On those two days we might get the chance to watch some wildlife like mountain goats and marmots. We get along a beautiful mountain lake and climb up Risserkogel peak. Sleeping in hammocks in the open. We cook over an open fire. The tour is suitable for beginners and youth over 14 years of age. For children under 14 years of age an alternative tour can be arranged.

Summit: Risserkogel 1825 m.
Seasons: all year round
Capabilities: To be able to hike for long periods at a time with an approximately 15 kg rucksack.

Tour Nr. 02 Mangfall Range and Brandenberger Alps

Description: (3 day tour)

The tour starts in the Mangfall mountain range nearby lake Tegernsee and ends up in the Brandberger Alps in Tyrol/Austria. Though wellknown Tegernsee area with its tourists from all over the world, we will rather fast leave all those crowds of tourists behind and dive into the silence of Bavarian Alps. On those 3 days we cross two mountain ranges on mostly abanoned trails, where we might get the chance to watch some wildlife like mountain goats, eagle and marmots, we get along a pictoresque mountain lake and climb up the peaks of Mount Risserkogel and Mount Guffert. We will also visit a celtic shrine on our trails. A mountain spring with Etruscan inscriptions. It is the oldest language monument in the northern Alps. Sleeping in hammocks in the open. We cook over an open fire.

Summit: Risserkogel 1825 m, Guffert 2196 m
Seasons: June - October
Capabilities: Sure footedness – especially on the Guffert north face ascent (climbing short sections along iron cable). Good fitness level.

Day 1: About 2 hours for an elevation accent of 500 m. ▲
Day 2: 5 - 6 hours for an elevation ascent of 850 m ▲ and a descent of 960 m. ▼
Day 3: 5 – 6 hours for an elevation ascent of 780 m ▲ and a descent of 1200 m. ▼

Tour Nr. 03 Wetterstein / Zugspitze (highest peak in Germany)

Description: (2 day tour)

Through the Höllental Valley via various rock climbs to the summit of the Zugspitze 2962 m. A demanding 2 days trip through the outstanding Wetterstein range. In these days we hike trough the pictoresque Höllental gorge and cross Germany´s last glacier before climbing on a very well secured via ferrata up to Zugspitze – Germany´s highest peak with 2962 m. From the peak we descent down to the beautiful Reintal valley. On the way down we will come by a few typical cabins of the German Alpine Association, where we for sure will find the time for a stopover. Just before we end up our trip in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, we cross the beautiful Parntnach gorge. This tour requires a very good physicall fitness and footedness. Sleeping in Hammocks in the open. We cook over an open fire.

Summit: Zugspitze 2962 m
Seasons: June - October
Capabilities: Very good level of fitness. Sure footedness and having a good head for heights. The difficult sections are secured by harness and iron cables.

Day 1: 8 - 9 hours for an elevation ascent of 2200 m ▲ and a descent of 1600 m. ▼
Day 2: 3 - 4 hours for an elevation decent of 670 m. ▼ (A longer variation over the Schützensteig path is possible by team agreement)

Tour Nr. 04 Karwendel Range Crossing

Description: (3 day tour)

This tour takes us through the scenic Hinterautal valley in Austria. In those 3 days we follow the river Isar (that also runs later on through Munich) to its source and climb up Mount Birkkarspitze – the highest peak in the Karwendel range with 2749 m with a superb panoramic view. In some parts there is a secured via ferrata which should be easy to handle. Furthermore we descent along abononed trails, that only a few people ever hike and end up in Mittenwald/Germany on our last day. Sleeping in Hammocks in the open. We cook over an open fire.

Summit: Birkkar summit 2749 m
Seasons: June - October
Capabilities: Sure footedness and a good level of fitness is a must.

Day 1: 2 - 3 hours for an elevation ascent of 230 m. ▲
Day 2: 7 – 8 hours for an elevation ascent of 1550 m ▲ and a descent of 1050 m. ▼
Day 3: 5 – 6 hours for an elevation ascent of 300 m ▲ and a descent of 1100 m. ▼

Tour Nr. 05 Blauberge - Mangfall Range

Description: (2 day tour)

Hiking on mostly abandoned trails with some rustic cabins on the way. Those two days take us through the wild romantic Wolfsschlucht (wolf canyon) and over the Blaubergkamm (Blue Mountain ridge) with an tremandous panorama while on the ridge. Shortly after we cross the border to Austria we pass along a rustic cabin, where cheese, sausage and Schnaps is homemade. For sure we will have a stopover there. Furthermore we will visit a celtic shrine which is along our trail. A mountain spring with Etruscan inscriptions. It is the oldest language monument in the northern Alps. From there we hike back on an alternative route untill we cross over to Germany again. A great part of the second day is on pathes not very much used by others. Sleeping in hammocks in the open. We cook over an open fire.

Summit: Halserspitze 1862 m
Seasons: June - October
Capabilities: Sure footedness – To be able to hike for long periods at a time with an approximately 15 kg rucksack.

Tour Nr. 06 Snow-Shoe Tour / Karwendel Range

Description: (2 day tour)

Snow-shoe tour in mostly moderately sloping terrain. It requires a good physically condition but no technical experience in snow-shoeing is necessary. This round trip takes us through two beautiful valleys of the Karwendel mountain range. On the first day we hike up through the Johannestal valley up to the the Falkenhütte cabin, where we will stay overnight. On our second day we descent through the even more remote Laliderertal valley back to the trailhead. The hiking hours mentioned is an average calculated with only little amounts of new snow. We overnight in the winter room of a hut by the DAV (German Alpine Association). The tour is suitable for beginners and youth over 14 years of age.

Seasons: December - May
Capabilities: Good fitness level for up to 5-6 hours of hiking with an approximately 15 kg rucksack.

Day 1: About 6 hours (15 km) for an elevation ascent of 900 m. ▲
Day 2: About 6 hours (16 km) for an elevation descent of 900 m. ▼

Price: 165 Euros per person

Alternative I offer this tour between March and May as an outdoors tour, where we sleep in hammocks in the open. Cooking will be over an open fire. For this tour your sleeping bag should guarantee a comfort range of about 0° Celcius.

Tour Nr. 07 Wetterstein Range Crossing

Description: (2 day tour)

The tour starts in the village of Hammersbach near Garmsich-Partenkirchen. At the beginning we climb through the spectacular Höllental gorge up to the Höllental Anger cabin. From there we climb on remote pathes by the name of Rindersteig and Nordwandsteig under the the north face of the scenic Mount Alpspitze to a pictoresque mountain lake. Later on we decide acording to our physical conditons wether we take the Schützensteig (a path hardly no one hikes) with a spectacular panorama into the Reintalvalley and its sourounding mountain ranges or we take an easier option down to the valley. At the end of our 2 days we get to the village of Lermoss in Austria. Sleeping in Hammocks in the open. We cook over an open fire.

Seasons: June - October
Capabilities: Sure footedness, a good level of fitness and for some sections a good head for heights is a must.

Day 1: 8 - 9 hours for an elevation ascent of 1400 m ▲ and a descent of 800 m  ▼
Day 2: 5 - 6 hours for an elevation ascent of 650 m ▲ and a descent of 1030 m  ▼

Tour Nr. 08 Cross-Country-Ski-Tour/Königssee-Steinernes Meer

Description: (4 day tour)

Cross-Country-Ski-Tour in partly high alpine terrain. It requires very good physically condition. Technical experience in snow-shoeing would be helpful, as we get through some steep terrain. The hiking hours mentioned is an average calculated with only little amounts of new snow. We overnight in cabins or bivouac huts run by the DAV (German Alpine Association). The first day brings us over the scenic lake Königssee. We leave the boat at St. Bartholomä and start our hike up to the Kärlingerhaus cabin in 1631m – the coldest place in Germany. Record temperature on Christmas day 2001 was minus 45,9°C. From here we start next day climbing up a pass and crossing over the famous area of “Steinerne Meer” which means “sea of stones”, which is a huge plateau. We cross over and climb up to a little hut called Wildalmkirchl in 2457m. Next day brings us on an alternative route back to Kärlingerhaus where we spend the 3rd night. On our last day we hike back to St. Bartholomä following the route of the first day. This tour is an absolute must for those who look for scenic landscapes in an absolute remote area.

Capabilities: Very good fitness level for up to 8 hours of hiking with an approximately 15 kg rucksack.

This tour combines the highlights of tour 2 and 5 out of my programme and starts in the wild romantic Wolfsschlucht (wolf canyon) and over the Blaubergkamm (Blue Mountain ridge) with an tremandous panorama while on the ridge.
